Lindsey Vonn (born 18 Oct 1984) is a retired American alpine skiing champion who won silver in the downhill section of the Winter Olympics in 2010. She is one of the most well-known athletes in American the history of sports. She is one of only six female athletes who have taken home trophies the five World Cup competitions in alpine. The American has racked up an impressive 82 World Cup victories in total. The best skier in the world and the most popular American ski racers have decided to take a break following the World Championship which will take place in Sweden. Numerous health issues led the Four-time World Cup Overall Champion to make the decision to retire. Social media was used to make her announcement of retirement. My final race of my racing career will take place on the island of Re Sweden next week, at the Downhill World Championships as well as the SG World Championships.
