Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native she was born into Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as as seen through flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. In fear of stress, her parents didn't want to see her pursue acting before turning 18. Perry stated she felt shy to act during high school, but started doing shows at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness caused Perry her back home California, where theater jobs were in demand. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. In 2015 she performed alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, she played an recurring role in The ABC Political thriller Scandal with her father. She was also cast in her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The role was selected via auditions having a strong connection with it.
